About the Artist

Adrienne Diaz (b.1993) is a Chicana and Black multi-disciplined artist, community organizer and activist born and raised in Eastern Coachella Valley of California.  She founded the ExpresArte Cultural Wellness Collective, an organization focused on providing the South San Joaquin Valley with culturally competent mental healthcare. Her paintings, drawings and ceramics explore ideas of culture, identity, and family dynamics through visual manifestations of time, memory, and the human body.  She is a graduate from Fresno State’s School of Art, Design and Art History and is a recipient of the Edward. O Lund Scholarship.  Her work has been exhibited across California in galleries and community spaces and featured on the cover of Latin@ Literatures Magazine.  She has contributed to and organized work on 5 mural and public works projects in the Fresno Metropolitan area, including Mariposa Plaza and the Fresno airport.  Diaz is a former Artist in Residence for Planned Parenthood MarMonte (2023) and Inhabit Arts Collective (2022).  She is now based in South Fresno and currently sits on the board for The JoyCore Project and co-facilitates The Abnormal Coven, an arts collective for women and femmes.
