The AbNormal Coven
The Abnormal Coven is a collective of Femme and Women working in the arts community of the Greater Fresno Metropolitan Area. Established in 2024, the group was founded with the purpose of providing women and femme-presenting artists with a local network of fellow artists to co-create and collaborate in meaningful and material ways.

Story
In 2024, the founding members met with the initial goal to have a salon style meeting group where they would be able to share ideas, values and critique their art in a space with individuals that could not only relate to their experiences in the art community but also begin to understand their different perspectives and diverse backgrounds and circumstances. What grew from that one meeting in Late Spring is an at-large network of artists in the Fresno area committed to creating inclusive space and experiences that consider the beautifully diverse experiences of women in our region all while fighting for our space in a male dominated world and industry.

UPCOMING! The Abnormal Coven | Fresno City Hall
This November, the Fresno City Hall will be exhibiting the work of The Abnormal Coven. The first floor will feature a selection of recent work from the general membership. The Second Floor will feature "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Canvas" exhibit.
The Abnormal Coven | Corridor 2122
In July 2026, the Coven celebrated two years with a group show curated by member Angel Lesnikowski. The show features 19 of the over 30 members.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Canvas
Throughout 2025, 12 members dubbed "The Coven Dozen" took on a collaborative project that is exquisite-corpse adjacent. From it's conception the priority was communication and collaboration, from building canvasses, and passing them through the group. The result is a collection of paintings that reflect each person's experience of womanhood and how they define it, adorned with the visions of peers, and punctuated with self-affirmation.
